Margaret Kirkman

Our Optometrist Margaret has an interest in preventative eyecare, especially for children as their eyes are still developing.  For this reason, she has developed her skills through further studies in Child Development and Behavioural Optometry. She regularly receives referrals and recommendations from other optometrists, from teachers and other health professionals such as speech pathologists, GPs and Psychologists.

Margaret moved to Adelaide in 1988, after studying Optometry at the Queensland University of Technology. She loves the Mediterranean climate of South Australia and on weekends can be found either in her garden or hiking in nature.  Her two children were born and bred in Adelaide and are now both enjoying studies at university – one undertaking computer science, the other pursuing a law degree.

Margaret's qualifications:

BAppSc-Optometry (Hons)
GradDipSocialScience-Child Development
ACBO Accredited Behavioural Optometrist
Flinders University Guest Lecturer & Clinical Placement Supervisor
